Yasmin works by preventing ovulation and thickening of mucus in cervix. Yasmin also causes changes in your cervical and uterine lining, making it difficult for sperm to reach uterus and causing hindrance for fertilized egg to attach to uterus.
Use Yasmin as directed by your Physician. Take one tablet orally at same time every day to be effective. Yasmin can be taken with or without food. For exact dosing instructions consult your Doctor and check the label on medicine.
Yasmin is used to treat moderate acne in women of 14 years old. Yasmin is also used in prevention of symptoms of premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD) such as breast tenderness, headache, anxiety, irritability, sleep or appetite changes, joint or muscle pain and depression.
Less serious side effects of Yasmin may include vaginal itching or discharge, changes in weight or appetite, breast pain, swelling, or tenderness, swelling of your hands or feet, increased hair growth or freckles, darkening of facial skin or changes in your menstrual periods.
More serious side effects of Yasmin which has medical complications are a breast lump, chest pain or heavy feeling, jaundice, problems with speech, vision or balance or sudden numbness or weakness.
