XYZAL ACTION MECHANISM
Xyzal acts by inhibiting production of histamine in body. Its principal effects are mediated through selective inhibition of peripheral histamine receptors (H1 receptors).
XYZAL DOSAGE
Xyzal is usually recommended without food consumption. Recommended dosage of Xyzal for adults and children 12 years of age and older is 5 mg (1 tablet or 2 teaspoon [10 mL] oral solution) per day and on evening. While recommended dose for children below 12 years of age is 2.5 mg of Xyzal.
XYZAL ADVANTAGES
Xyzal is found to be effective in treating symptoms of year-round (perennial) as well as seasonal allergies in adults and children. Xyzal is also used to treat swelling and itching caused by chronic urticaria (hives) in adults and children.
XYZAL SIDE EFFECTS
Less serious side effects of Xyzal include drowsiness, weakness, stuffy nose, sore throat, cough, dry mouth, sinus pain, constipation, vomiting, diarrhea, tired feeling or weight gain.
While serious side effects of Xyzal that require urgent medical care include fever, nosebleed (especially in children), depression, hallucinations; hearing problems, loss of appetite, stomach pain, jaundice, agitation and aggression, numbness or tingling around your lips or mouth, dark-colored urine or foul-smelling stools.
