XENICAL ACTION MECHANISM
Xenical capsules contain the active ingredient orlistat which acts as lipase inhibitor, preventing the action of gastric and pancreatic lipases. As a result, the body cannot use the fat as a source of energy, or convert it into fat tissue and is excreted in feces thereby reducing body weight.
XENICAL DOSAGE
Xenical dosage is recommended 3 times daily, during (or up to 1 hour after) each main meal containing fat. Additional benefit with dosages >120 mg 3 times daily is not found.
XENICAL ADVANTAGES
Xenical is Used in patients with initial body mass index (BMI) of ≥30 kg/m2;and is also used in those with BMI of ≥27 kg/m2 in the presence of risk factor or disease such as hypertension, diabetes mellitus, hyperlipidemia) and is found to be most effective.
XENICAL SIDE EFFECTS
Common side effects of xenical include Headache, Oily spotting from the rectum., Abdominal pain or discomfort, Flatulence (wind), sometimes with discharge, Oily or fatty stools, Urgent or increased need to open the bowels and Diarrhea.
