Description
SPORANOX ACTION MECHANISM
Sporanox prevents formation of ergosterol, essential fungal cell membrane component, inhibiting its synthesis resulting in increased cellular permeability, thus causing leakage of cellular contents. Sporanox also inhibits endogenous respiration, interaction with membrane phospholipids, and transformation of yeasts to mycelial forms, purine uptake, and impairment of triglyceride and/or biosynthesis of phospholipid.
SPORANOX DOSAGE
Sporanox Capsules or Oral Solution is recommended to be taken with food to ensure maximal absorption.
SPORANOX ADVANTAGES
Sporanox is also used in treatment of Onychomycosis and in Patients with Renal and Hepatic Impairment.
SPORANOX SIDE EFFECTS
Sporanox is usually well tolerated and common side effects include nausea, occasional abdominal discomfort, sickness and constipation.
While less serious side effects of sporanox is mild stomach pain, headache, diarrhea, constipation, dizziness, mild itching or skin rash, runny nose or other symptoms of cold.
Serious side effects of Sporanox jaundice treatment include numbness or tingly feeling, shortness of breath, dark urine, clay-colored stools, jaundice, adrenal gland suppression, low blood potassium and raised blood pressure.
