NIZORAL ACTION MECHANISM

The mechanism of action of Nizoral is through impairment of synthesis of ergosterol, which is vital component of fungal cell membranes thus increasing fungal cellular permeability. Nizoral can also inhibit synthesis of thromboxane and sterols such as aldosterone, cortisol, and testosterone.

NIZORAL DOSAGE

The recommended dosage of Nizoral is a single tablet of 200 mg administered on a daily basis. The dose of Nizoral Tablets may be increased to two tablets (400 mg) per day in case of very serious infections or if clinical responsiveness is insufficient within expected time limit.

NIZORAL ADVANTAGES

Systemic application of Nizoral is found to be effective in treatment of candida infections, dermatophytoses, acanthamoeba infection, leishmaniasis, prostate cancer, cushing’s syndrome, hirsutism and precocious puberty and hypercalcemia.

Common side effects of Nizoral treatment include headache, nausea and vomiting, stomach pain, sensitivity to light, breast swelling and tenderness or change in sex drive or performance.

Serious side effects of Nizoral that need to be reported to your health care professional are fever, loss of appetite, feeling dizziness or faint, irregular heartbeat and chest pain, jaundice, dark urine and light color stools or allergic reactions.
