IMITREX ACTION MECHANISM

Imitrex ia thought to act as 5-HT 1D agonist, which means that it is able to mimic effects of chemical serotonin in a small subset of cells. Imitrex ability to mimic serotonin causes blood vessels around brain to constrict, which helps in relieving migraine pain.

IMITREX DOSAGE

Use Imitrex as exactly prescribed by your physician and only after you notice headache symptoms, or after an attack has already begun. Usual dose of Imitrex is 25mg, 50mg or 10 mg taken at first sign of migraine. Imitrex tablet is generally taken with a glass of water.

IMITREX ADVANTAGES

Imitrex is also effective against substances that trigger headache, nausea, sensitivity to light and sound, and other migraine symptoms.

IMITREX SIDE EFFECTS

Less serious Imitrex side effects include mild headache, feeling hot or cold, dizziness, drowsiness, nausea, vomiting, burning, numbness or redness or mild tingling sensation in skin.

While serious side effects of Imitrex that require urgent medical help include chest pain, sudden severe headache, pain in your jaw, neck, or throat and arm or shoulder, sudden numbness or weakness, seizure, confusion, vision, speech, or balance problems; bloody diarrhea and severe stomach pain.
