Action mechanism of Hydrea is through reducing production of deoxyribonucleotides by inhibition of ribonucleotide reductase enzyme. This is done by scavenging tyrosyl free radicals as they are involved in reduction NDPs and thereby preventing progression of cancer.

HYDREA DOSAGE

Consult your health care professional before taking Hydrea medicine as its dose will depend on clinical condition and severity of disease. Recommended dosage of Hydrea for chronic myelocytic leukemia (CML) in adults is 30 mg per kg of body weight per day, to be taken as single dose. While for sickle cell anemia prescribed Hydrea dosage include 15 mg per kg body weight per day, taken as single dose.
