FLAGYL ACTION MECHANISM

Flagyl contains Metronidazole as active component which is selectively absorbed by anaerobic bacteria and sensitive protozoa. Flagyl metabolites are taken up into bacterial DNA, and form unstable molecules resulting in inactivation of various bacterial enzymes and fragmentation of bacterial DNA.

FLAGYL DOSAGE

Flagyl should be taken as prescribed by your health care professional. Extended-release tablets are usually recommended on empty stomach, at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after meal. Flagyl tablets are available in 250 mg or 500 mg concentrations.
