DIOVAN ACTION MECHANISM
Diovan is an angiotensin II receptor antagonist and works by selectively blocking angiotensin II hormone from binding to AT1-receptor which is located in many different tissues such as vascular smooth muscle cells. Blocking of angiotensin II by Diovan, results in dilation of blood vessels, thereby lowering blood pressure.
DIOVAN DOSAGE
Take Diovan as exactly prescribed by your health care professional and can be taken with or without meals. The starting dose of Diovan is 80 mg or 160 mg per day. While, depending on your clinical condition, usual Diovan dosage ranges from 80mg-320 mg per day.

DIOVAN SIDE EFFECTS
Less serious Diovan side effects include runny or stuffy nose, sore throat, cough, diarrhea, constipation, weakness, insomnia, mild itching, headache, dizziness, stomach pain or back pain.
While serious side effects of Diovan that do not need urgent medical care include chest pain, fast or pounding heartbeats, muscle pain or tenderness, numbness or tingling sensation, vision problems, swelling or weight gain and dark colored urine.
