DIFLUCAN ACTION MECHANISM
Diflucan works by inhibiting ergosterol synthesis in cell wall of yeast and other fungi as it is absorbed quickly after oral administration and widely distributed in body. Diflucan inhibits transformation of blastospores into invasive mycelial form in Candida albicans.
DIFLUCAN DOSAGE
The recommended dosage of Diflucan for Vaginal Infections is 150 mg per day taken orally. While for Oral and Esophageal Infections, recommended Diflucan dosage is 200 mg for first day followed by 100 mg once a day. Diflucan tablets are available in 50, 100, 150, or 200 mg concentrations.
DIFLUCAN ADVANTAGES
Diflucan is also used in prevention of fungal infections in cancer patients and transplant recipients, disseminated candida infections, aspergillosis, vulvovaginal candidiasis and esophageal candidiasis.
DIFLUCAN SIDE EFFECTS
Less serious Diflucan side effects are mild stomach pain, diarrhea and stomach upset, headache, dizziness and unusual or unpleasant taste in your mouth.
Serious side effects with Diflucan treatment that require medical help include fever, chills, body aches, itching, flu symptoms, nausea, upper stomach pain, loss of appetite, dark urine, clay-colored stools, jaundice, skin rash, bleeding, unusual weakness or seizure (convulsions).
