DICLOFENAC ACTION MECHANISM
Exact action mechanism of Diclofenac is not entirely known. But, primary mechanism responsible for activity of Diclofenac such as anti-inflammatory, antipyretic, and analgesic action is through inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis by inhibiting cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes. Diclofenac is also thought to exhibit bacteriostatic activity by inhibiting bacterial DNA synthesis.
DICLOFENAC DOSAGE
Take diclofenac as exactly prescribed by your health care professional, since it depends on severity of your condition. The usual recommended dose of Diclofenac for most conditions is 100-200 mg per day. Diclofenac is available in form of tablets (delayed release): 25, 50, and 75 mg; tablets (immediate release): 50 mg and Tablets (extended release): 100mg.

Less serious Diclofenac side effects include diarrhea, constipation, dizziness, headache, nervousness, stomach upset, mild heartburn or stomach pain and skin itching or rash.
Serious side effects of Diclofenac include neck stiffness, chills, weakness, shortness of breath, chest pain, coughing up blood, muscle weakness or bruising, seizures, bloody or tarry stools, dark urine, clay-colored stools, jaundice or severe skin reaction.
