Description
ALLEGRA ACTION MECHANISM
Allegra is a second-generation, long lasting H1-receptor antagonist (antihistamine) that has selective and peripheral H1-antagonist action. Allergy is caused by attachment of histamine to its receptors. Allegra blocks one type of histamine receptor (H1 receptor) and thus prevents activation of cells by histamine.
ALLEGRA DOSAGE
Recommended dose of Allegra tablets for seasonal allergic rhinitis and chronic idiopathic urticaria is 60mg twice a day or 180 mg per day with water for adults. While for children Allegra tablets of 30 mg are recommended twice a day with water.

Allegra is found to be most effective in treating seasonal allergic rhinitis and chronic idiopathic urticaria in both adults and children.

Common side effects of Allegra that usually do not require medical attention include headache, nausea, dry or irritated nose, mouth, or throat, cough, drowsiness, menstrual changes or stomach upset.
Serious side effects f Allegra that require your health care professional help include allergic reactions like skin rash, itching or hives, swelling of face, lips, or tongue, fever or infection, chest pain, fast heartbeat and breathing problem.
